Honey Glazed Turkey Breast and Creamy Brussels Sprouts

If you’re intimidated by cooking a whole bird this holiday, you must try my Honey Glazed Turkey Breast. Its great for a smaller gathering and the prep work/cooking is a fraction of the time!

This holiday, I’m using my Crock-Pot® MultiMeal is the dual-pot multicooker for creating two holiday dishes simultaneously, using just one appliance. Because the revolutionary DualSync Technology smart timer lets you make two meals, with different cooking temperatures and methods, my turkey breast and brussels sprouts are finished cooking at the same time. Timing multiple dishes for dinner has never been easier, especially when this handy appliance is doing it for you.

Ingredient Notes

For the Honey Glazed Turkey Breast:

  • Turkey Breast: I’m using a bone-in turkey breast. You can also opt for a boneless turkey breast if preferred for easier carving.
  • Honey: The star of the glaze! Honey provides a beautiful sweetness that balances the savory seasonings. Make sure you use pure honey (not honey “blend” or honey-flavored syrup) for the best results.
  • Orange Juice: Orange juice is the liquid of choice and brings a citrus flavor to this sweet glaze.
  • Dijon Mustard: Adds a slight tang that pairs perfectly with the honey and creates a balanced glaze.
  • Seasonings: Garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika provide a savory base for the flavor profile, rounding out the glaze without overwhelming the turkey’s natural flavor.
  • Fresh Rosemary: This fresh herb elevates the dish with a fragrant, earthy depth. You can also use dried herbs if fresh ones aren’t available, but fresh is ideal.

For the Creamy Brussels Sprouts:

  • Brussels Sprouts: Fresh Brussels sprouts are best for this dish, as they hold up well. Trim the ends and remove any yellow or outer leaves and blanch them in a pot of boiling water to get them a little tender.
  • Heavy Cream and Milk: For that rich, silky creaminess.
  • Cheese: Gruyère and cheddar cheese adds richness to the creamy sauce. Freshly grated is ideal, but pre-grated also works if you’re short on time.
  • Butter and Garlic: The foundation of the creamy sauce, giving the dish a buttery, savory flavor. Garlic enhances the richness of the cream.

Tips for Success

  • Sear the Turkey Breast: For added flavor, quickly sear the turkey breast before adding in the other ingredients into the Crock-Pot®.
  • Monitor Cooking Time: Depending on your Crock-Pot®, cooking times may vary. Generally, 6-7 hours on low or about 4 hours on high works well. If unsure, check for doneness when the turkey has 30 minutes left of cooking. You may also use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. Insert into the thickest part of the breast and it should register at 165F.
  • Serve It Right: This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, corn casserole, or a side salad to keep things light.

Ingredients

For the Turkey

  • 1 (2 ½-3 pounds) bone-in turkey breast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • cup unsalted butter
  • cup honey
  • cup orange jucie
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water, optional for glaze thickener

For the Brussels Sprouts

  • 1 ½ pounds brussels sprouts, trimmed, halved, and blanched
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 ½ cups shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

For the Turkey Breast (Pot 1)

  • Drizzle the turkey with olive oil and season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper on both sides.
  • Preheat the first pot (on the left) of the Crock-Pot® Multicooker on the 'Sear/Saute' HIGH setting. Once preheated, brown the turkey breast on both sides (about 3-5 minutes). Set side.
  • In the same pot, stir in the butter, honey, orange juice, Dijon mustard, rosemary, garlic, salt and pepper, to taste. Place the turkey breast back into the pot. Spoon the honey glaze over the turkey and cover with the lid.
  • Select the 'Slow Cook', 'HIGH' setting for 4 hours for the first pot. Then, press 'START'. Spoon the glaze over the turkey breast every hour to hour and a half throughout cooking.
  • Optional: If using cornstarch slurry to thicken the honey glaze, stir the slurry into the glaze the last 20 minutes of cooking.

For the Brussels Sprouts

  • Preheat the second pot (on the right) of the Crock-Pot® Multicooker on the 'Sear/Saute' HIGH setting. Once preheated, add the butter, onion, and garlic. Saute until the onion is translucent and soft.
  • Stir in the heavy cream, milk, Gruyère cheese, and cheddar cheese. Bring to a gentle simmer. Toss brussels spouts into the cream sauce until well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Preheat on the 'BAKE', 'HIGH' setting for 20 minutes and press 'SYNC FINISH', 'START'.
  • In a small dish, mix together the panko breadcrumbs and the melted butter. Top the brussels spouts with the panko breadcrumbs. Cover and let cook.
  • Since the first pot is Synced, they will finish at the same time and the brussels spouts will remain warm until the turkey is finished cooking.
