Honey Mustard Chicken Tenders

If you’re looking for a quick chicken dinner that has a bold punch of flavor, these Honey Mustard Chicken Tenders are it. Tender chicken is pan-seared until lightly golden, then coated in a simple honey mustard sauce that’s sweet, tangy, and packed with flavor. The sauce caramelizes slightly in the pan, creating a glossy coating that clings to every bite.

Here is why I love these chicken tenders so much!

  • Ready in under 20 minutes. Perfect for busy weeknights when you need dinner on the table fast.
  • Simple pantry ingredients. Honey, mustard, rosemary, and lemon come together to create a sauce that’s both bold and balanced.
  • Perfectly juicy chicken. Chicken tenderloins cook quickly and stay incredibly moist.
  • One-pan recipe. Less cleanup means more time enjoying dinner.

My Master Tips

  • Pat the chicken dry before seasoning to help it brown instead of steam.
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan. If necessary, cook the chicken in batches so each piece develops a nice golden crust.
  • Wait until the chicken is nearly cooked through before adding the sauce. Since honey can burn quickly, adding it at the end keeps the sauce smooth and prevents it from becoming bitter.
  • Cook over medium heat once the sauce is added. A gentle simmer allows the sauce to thicken and coat the chicken without scorching.
  • Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving so the juices can redistribute.

What to Pair With Honey Mustard Chicken Tenders

These chicken tenders are so versatile and pair well with almost any side.

I love serving them with sweet potato wedges, my sheet pan roasted veggies, creamy mashed potatoes, buttery rice, or roasted baby potatoes.

They also make an excellent protein for grain bowls with quinoa or rice, and they’re delicious sliced over salads or tucked into wraps for an easy lunch.
