Sheet Pan Shrimp Boil

When seasoning shrimp boil or seafood boil, you can never go wrong with Old Bay Seasoning. It brings a ton of flavor to seafood! The seasoning has celery salt, red pepper, black pepper, and paprika as the main ingredients. Another great seasoning to use here to replace the Old Bay Seasoning (if you don’t have it on hand) is cajun seasoning.

For This Sheet Pan Shrimp Boil, You’ll Need:

1 1/2 pounds jumbo shrimp – large sized shrimp are okay to use too! I would recommend sticking to 11/2 pounds though!

3 tbsp avocado oil, divided – avocado oil is great when cooking with high heat and I love cooking with it in my kitchen, it does not smoke like olive oil. Olive oil it fine to use if that’s what you have on hand.

1 (12 oz) package andouille sausage, sliced into 1-inch rounds – for shrimp boil, andouille sausage works wondferul with all the flavors. Kielbasa would work well too!

1 pound baby red potatoes, halved – get the really small red potatoes for this one! Potatoes are the one item that take the longest amount of time to cook through. Cut them in half before adding to the sheet pan.

2 ears corn, husked and each cut into 4 to 5 pieces – fresh is best, I would not recommend frozen, only because it’s not being boiled here like some other recipes might call.

1 red onion, ends removed and quartered

1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces

2 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning – if you cannot not get your hands on an Old Bay Seasoning, cajun seasoning would also deliver a ton of flavor to this recipe.

1/2 cup unsalted butter

2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley, for garnish

1 lemon, cut into wedges, for serving

To Make This Sheet Pan Shrimp Boil:

Toss the shrimp with 1 tbsp avocado oil (or olive oil) and 1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning. Place into the refrigerator until ready for use.

Place the sausage, potatoes, corn, red onion, and bell pepper onto a large sheet pan. Drizzle with 2 tbsp avocado (or olive oil) and season with 2 tsp of the Old Bay Seasoning. Toss together until coated well and spread out into one even layer.

Place into the oven and bake for 25 minutes at 400 degrees F.

Remove the sheet pan from the oven and flip the veggies and sausage. Spread out the shrimp on top of the veggies and sausage. Place back into the oven and bake for another 12-14 minutes, until shrimp is fully cooked through. Don’t overcook the shrimp, otherwise is will taste rubbery.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes.

In the meantime, make the Old Bay buttery sauce. Melt a stick of butter in a small saucepan or microwave. Stir in 1 tbsp of Old Bay Seasoning. Drizzle right over the shrimp boil.

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges!
