Steak Kabobs With Apple Cider Marinade
These tender and juicy sirloin steak kabobs are first marinated in a sweet and tangy apple cider marinade. The steak is then threaded along with seasonal tart apples and red onion. When finished baking, they are brushed with the reserved apple cider marinade for an extra punch of flavor. (Jump to Recipe)
To Make These Steak Kabobs With Apple Cider Marinade
You’ll need:
Sirloin Steak – For this recipe, I’m using SunFed Ranch 100% Grass Fed, Natural Top Sirloin Steak. Not only is sirloin versatile for grilling, stews, and stir fry, it’s great for kabobs! SunFed Ranch exclusively sources free-range cattle that’s raised on local American ranches – without antibiotics, GMOs, or added hormones. That’s what I call clean protein with no compromise! They have a great selection of organic meats also. They are tender and so delicious!
Honey Crisp Apple – These apples, in particular are a bit tart but honey sweet at the same time. They hold their shape well when they’re cooked and don’t fall apart into mush as soon as they hit the heat.
Red Onion – Onions are a great addition to steak kabobs. In particular, the red onions add a pop of color to any meal.
Apple Cider – You can use store bought apple cider for this recipe or you can make some yourself. At this time of year, apple cider is easily accessible almost everywhere.
Apple Cider Vinegar – The acidity in ACV helps tenderize the sirloin.
Soy Sauce – For an added rich salty/savory flavor.
Honey – For an added hint of sweetness. Maple syrup can be used as a substitute.
Garlic – Garlic makes everything better! Am I right?! When in doubt, add garlic.
Paprika – Regular or smoked paprika can be used for these kabobs.
Thyme – Thyme is one of my favorite go to herbs in the colder seasons just like basil is in the summer. I like to use thyme as a garnish. If you’d like to add thyme to the marinade or any additional herbs like rosemary, oregano, or sage, that’s a great option to add more fragrant, earthy tones to these kabobs.
Salt And Pepper.
Create the marinade by whisking together apple cider, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, honey, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Marinate the cubed sirloin beef for about an hour in the refrigerator. Thread the beef with cubed apple and onion on metal skewers or soaked wooden skewers. Bake for 10-12 minutes in the oven at 425 degrees F, turning once halfway through baking time. Boil the reserved marinade in a medium saucepan for 10 minutes over medium heat. Brush the steak kabobs with the sweet apple cider sauce and garnish with fresh herbs.
