Scones are slowly making their way back into my life after I was away on a brownie and cookie train the last few months. And to think that I’ve been missing out on these super soft, warm, crumbly-when-you-bite-into nectarine buttermilk scones. We’ll make sure this time they don’t slip away from our routine.
Ingredients to make these nectarine buttermilk scones..
- all-purpose flour
- baking powder
- salt
- unsalted butter
- buttermilk
- egg
- vanilla extract
- granulated sugar
- nectarine
- powdered sugar
- milk
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Use your hands to work the butter into the flour.
In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, vanilla extract, and sugar together. Add to the flour mixture and stir. Gently fold in diced nectarine.
Form the dough into a ball and press it down flat so it is about 1 inch thick. Cut it into wedges, place on a baking sheet, bake, and drizzle with icing!
