Whether you’re eating fully plant-based, or just trying to eat more plants this year, this plant-based protein seed mix will help! One of my major goals this year was to eat more plants. And not just eat ’em, but share with you what kind plants(or seeds) I’m eating.

Plant-Based Protein Seed Mix

I’ve been really digging overnight oats lately and it’s been a thing for a while now. This plant-based protein seed mix is one of the KEY ingredients I put into my Chocolate Dream Overnight Oats EVERY DAY. Not only that, but I sprinkle it into my green salads, over my buddha bowls, etc. There really is no rule of how you can use this protein mix.

When I started making overnight oats, I would get out the individual containers for almond milk, oats, chia seeds, flax meal, and hemp seeds. I thought to myself, I wish they just sold a bag of this stuff… and they didn’t. So, I fixed that problem myself by combining all three of those bags of seeds. I’ll show you how to do it too!

Plant-Based Protein Seed Mix
This 3-seed protein mix is so easy to make. You will need:

1/2 cup of hemp seeds

1/2 cup of chia seeds

1/2 cup of flax meal

One of my two favorite brands are Bob’s Red Mill and the Trader Joe’s brand. You can also buy most of these seeds in the bulk section of your local grocery store.

Select a large enough container or mason jar to fit 1 1/2 cups. Make sure it is air-tight. Combine all three seeds: hemp, chia, and flax in that container. Next, stir with a spoon or shake it up until all the seeds are mixed well. Your protein seed mix is ready to be used. Sprinkle it on/into salads, pancake batter, overnight oats, place into sandwiches, and anything you can think of!

Keep this protein seed mix fresh by storing it in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 months.
