Lemon Basil Burrata With Garlic Toasts

As we embrace the warmer days, there’s no better way to celebrate the season’s fresh produce than with a dish that marries vibrant flavors of lemon and basil with creamy burrata cheese. Enter this Lemon Basil Burrata with Garlic Toast – this dish elevates classic burrata to new heights, infusing it with zesty bright lemon, fragrant basil, and crunchy toasted garlic bread slices.

Ingredient Notes

Burrata Cheese: The star of our dish, burrata is a luxurious Italian cheese known for its creamy interior. Opt for the freshest burrata you can find for the best flavor and texture. Most grocers sell it, not all though. My local Raley’s and Trader Joe’s both carry it. It can be found next to the mozzarella cheese and comes in a container with a salted brine. Or let Amazon Fresh deliver it to your door.

Lemon Zest and Juice: Fresh lemon zest and juice adds a bright, citrusy note that perfectly balances the richness of the burrata.

Fresh Basil: Fragrant basil leaves lend a touch of herbaceous freshness that remind us what summer is all about.

Garlic: For the garlic toast, use fresh garlic sliced in half and rub all over the toasts before toasting in the oven.

Olive Oil: Extra virgin olive oil brings a robust flavor. A few of my favorite are Garcia De La Cruz, Brightland, and Kosterina.

Baguette: Choose a high-quality baguette with a crusty exterior and a soft interior. Slice it evenly to ensure that each piece of toast crisps up beautifully.

This has been devoured every time I’ve made it! Like another commented, I added a little pesto. I also made the olive oil mixture the night before. Then poured over and added a little more fresh basil at the party.

Delicious and artistic hors d’oeuvre or light meal on a hot humid evening. Added a pinch of sea salt & placed toasted baguette around cheese. Second time time, I added a teaspoon + of Costco Basil Pesto in addition to the fresh basil.. Yummo!

You don’t want to know how many times I’ve made this. It’s quite literally an obsession

This is a lovely recipe and one I will be making frequently. The only thing I changed was to but rub the garlic on the bread after toasting. It literally melts into the bread when you toast the bread first

Hi Claudia! It can still work with feta cheese. I’m sure it will still be so so delicious! Just note, burrata cheese is in many ways similar to mozzarella. Feta cheese is more tart and sharp. You will end up getting a flavor profile. But like I said, I’m sure it will still be delicious! Enjoy!
